Biosecurity Engagement Program (BEP) and Chemical Security Program (CSP)
The BEP supports combatting biological threats worldwide by providing assistance to improve biosecurity, biosafety, pathogen surveillance, and infectious diseases surveillance and response. The CSP supports strengthening the ability of partner governments to prevent, detect, and disrupt the misuse of chemicals, securing weaponizable chemicals, expertise, and related infrastructure and promoting international chemical security best practices in order to reduce global chemical threats. The BEP and CSP are administered by the United States Department of State Bureau of International Security and Nonproliferation Office of Cooperative Threat Reduction (ISN/CTR). Under the BEP and CSP, LSU NCBRT/ACE works with U.S. partner nations as directed by the CTR to provide training focused on combatting biological and chemical threats worldwide.
