The World Cup's global scale, multi-match structure, length of time, and cultural impact make it fundamentally different from other large-scale events like the Super Bowl. As such, jurisdictions preparing to host World Cup matches face unique challenges for emergency response and safety preparation that they need to start preparing for today.

NCBRT News

Last month, LSU NCBRT/ACE piloted a new, compacted version of the traditional three-day course to better serve even more communities. ATIRC-Customized is a one-day delivery that teaches the concepts and principles of the Rescue Task Force, including staging, formations, safety cordons, contact teams, ambulance exchange points, room management. The day culminates in an instructor and participant walk-through of each principle of the RTF.

LSU NCBRT/ACE is proud to announce the receipt of a $20.84 million grant from the Department of Homeland Security, awarded through FEMA’s Fiscal Year 2024 National Domestic Preparedness Consortium (NDPC) appropriation. This significant funding, delivered via a cooperative agreement, will bolster LSU NCBRT/ACE’s mission to develop and deliver cutting-edge training and education programs for first responders and public safety officials across the nation.

In the event of a large-scale attack or threat, agencies from all across the region will need to work together to stop the danger. Over one hundred emergency responders in Charleston, West Virginia, practiced this skill earlier this month when LSU NCBRT/ACE delivered its course, A Prepared Jurisdiction: Integrated Response to Critical Incidents.

DHS/FEMA Training

As a founding member of the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium (NDPC), LSU NCBRT/ACE serves as a DHS/FEMA training partner and provides certified training to emergency responders under the Homeland Security National Training Program. The NDPC is a partnership of public and private organizations, the majority academic, committed to serving emergency first responders by providing quality, cost-effective counter-terrorism training.
